Johnson Memorial Health and BlueStar Seeking Qualified Patients to Receive Remote Patient Monitoring

Campaign to focus on patients with hypertension and other chronic conditions

WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES, December 22, 2022 — Johnson Memorial Health and BlueStar TeleHealth are looking for patients with hypertension or other chronic conditions who would benefit from receiving remote patient monitoring (RPM). RPM is technology that allows monitoring of patients outside a traditional clinic setting such as a hospital or provider office. Blood pressure and other health data is transmitted remotely from a patientโ€™s home to a team of nurse-monitors, saving the patient from making frequent trips to a provider office.
JMH and BlueStar began working together to provide RPM to Johnson County residents more than a year ago. RPM has become a popular option for patients, providers and nurses largely due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
โ€œThe Covid-19 pandemic has taught health care providers to be flexible and innovative when it comes to patient care,โ€ said Dr. David Dunkle, President and CEO of Johnson Memorial Health. โ€œBlueStar helps us improve staff efficiency, allowing us to devote more time and attention to those needing care.โ€
BlueStarโ€™s CEO, retired Admiral Robert Wray, said, โ€œWe are honored to work with an institution of Johnson Memorial Healthโ€™s caliber to deliver better care to patients in their home.โ€
Patients who are interested in being considered for the program should contact BlueStar TeleHealth at 317.912.0990. Representatives will be available to answer specific questions about remote patient monitoring including how the program works and whether or not a patient is covered by insurance.
